Niykee says that as she grows as a lyricist, the painful memories of her childhood serve as an inspiration. She says that even when she's not writing about the things which are actually happening the pain due to her childhood and the grief over the loss of her daughter find its way into music. The grief of losing my sister, and the memories of my childhood influences the songs I write. It is important for me to attach a profound significance to all I perform.
